Dance the night away to benefit SOMArts! For over 35 years, SOMArts has fostered access to the arts in the Bay Area, uplifting the voices of artists who are too often marginalized in the mainstream art world. In the midst of “alternative facts” that normalize hateful policy decisions, now more than ever it’s crucial to support spaces like SOMArts that provide a platform for diverse artists to tell their own stories. On Saturday, April 22, the Pièce de RESISTance will highlight SOMArts as a cultural oasis and provide an opportunity for artists, activists and community members to come together to celebrate our collective resilience and show support for SOMArts. We hope you’ll join us in amplifying the voices of artists who are still fighting to create a more equitable Bay Area! Tickets are on sale now. Join the resistance! The Pièce de RESISTance is an event conceived entirely by artists to benefit SOMArts' programs. Guests will enjoy an evening of experimental performance, artist-designed installations, and dancing to a lineup of the Bay Area's finest DJs. Click here for a full list of participating artists. For $85, the All-Access ticket is the strongest way to show your support AND guarantee access to the preview happy hour from 6:00–8:00 pm, including complimentary food and beverage and a chance to meet the artists behind the 2017–2018 season of the SOMArts Curatorial Residency. Plus, remarks from San Francisco's Director of Cultural Affairs Tom DeCaigny and an exclusive screening from video artist Hito Steyerl. Your All-Access ticket pays for:  One exhibition in SOMArts' Ramp Gallery, providing visibility and exposure to a new emerging Bay Area artist each month. Installation supplies for one Main Gallery exhibition. SOMArts hosts over 1,200 artists through our exhibition programs each year.
