Giotto, Dante and the Arena Chapel

An error I made in making this video which reverses some of my ideas is that Dante wrote the Divine Comedy more than a decade after Giotto painted the Arena Chapel. Which means that the influence I attribute to Dante in this video is just the reverse. It poses the question of how much did Giotto influence Dante?

Christmas Letters from C.E.S. Wood of the Cats Estate

Thursday, December 12, 7:00 - 9:00 pm
At The Art Museum (4 Tait Avenue)

Please join us for the first public reading of the personal Christmas letters of C.E.S. Wood to family and friends. Reproductions will be available for sale. Light holiday refreshments will be served.

In 1904, writer, lawyer, and owner of the Cats Estate C.E.S. Wood began celebrating Christmas by sending out Christmas messages in letter format. Not intended as poetry or literature, but as "sarcasm and propaganda" to family and friends, Wood's Christmas pieces most often attack the hypocrisy of Christianity and the commercialization of Christmas.

At The Art Museum (4 Tait Avenue)

It can be easy to forget to breathe in the rush of last minute holiday shopping, so take a moment to recharge and relax with us over at the Art Museum. Light refreshments will be provided.

In this county-wide competition, The Museums of Los Gatos asks young artists to contemplate the idea that art is a conversation and to visually communicate their answers.
