Sunday

Warm Evening 9"x12"

I'm starting to make some small oil sketch paintings for a show I'll be in at Elliott Fouts Gallery in Sacramento. The show is called "Small Gems."

Thursday

A book cover.

I just finished a cover for a "pulp fiction" novel by Jonathan Woods by New Pulp Press

Here's the approved version! (The second one was not approved but I thought I would share it.)

Thursday

An Art Review on Shotgun-Review.com

I got a review that was originally meant for ArtWeek but is now on a website. It's really, I guess, the first "real" review I've ever gotten and I'm not sure if it's a good review. I'd love to hear what you have to say on it. Particularly the comments about my rendering of things.

Wednesday

The next two pages.

Here are the next two pages from my book about Chuck and Valerie's perfect day. Below these two images are the step by step photos of how I worked them out. I'd love to hear what anyone has to think about them. Especially this first one which is more of a wash drawing on canvas.

Monday

New Illustration/Painting for a Children's Book

I've decided to make a sort of graphic novel/children's book about my dog Chuck and his perfect day (which he spends with my lovely wife Valerie.) I've gotten the first 20 or so pages laid out and I'm starting to render them now. I'll be incorporating most of the paintings I've already made of Chuck from this page:

Here's a step by step of the first page after this image:

Wednesday

"I'm Still at the Office," oil on linen, 20"x20"

This is the last painting I worked on. I'll post another step by step tomorrow.

Tuesday

Newest painting. Suggest a title please?

Hi,
Here's the step by step development of the 20"x15" monochromatic painting I finished yesterday. Can you suggest a title for me? Put it in the comments section?
Thanks!
