Queer arts mark decriminalisation

Dartington is going queer to mark the 50th anniversary of the partial decriminalisation of homosexuality.
A Dartington Outing is billed as seven days of queer arts and bent events including films, theatre, live arts, music and talks.
It will be the first major queer arts festival designed to reconnect with Dart­ington Hall’s “rich history as a progressive and experimental arts venue,” said Dartington Trust director Amy Bere.
She said: “We’re thrilled to showcase and celebrate the work of LGBT artists, heroes and pioneers at Dartington, with our long history of championing risk taking, provocation and extraordinary contemporary art and independent film in rural south Devon.
