The 2017 California Clay Competition and Exhibition is sponsored by The Artery and held in conjunction with the California Conference for the Advancement of Ceramic Art (sponsored by the John Natsoulas Gallery in Davis) held in Davis, California. Exhibition dates:  April 28th – May 26th, 2017
The Artery, home of the Artists’ Cooperative of Davis, has sponsored the Competition since 1990 to give California ceramic artists an opportunity to display their work during the California Conference for the Advancement of Ceramic Art. The Artery is within walking distance of the John Natsoulas Gallery, which serves as conference headquarters.
The competition is open to all living California artists. Works accepted must be for sale, available for the duration of the exhibit, and made within the last two years. The Artery retains a 50% commission from all sales.  $15. entry fee for each piece entered.
Jurors: Pat Koszis and Kay Wooldridge.
Medium and size: Artworks must be made of clay; or mixed media, with clay being the major emphasis of the work. Functional as well as sculptural forms are solicited. The work must fit through a standard door frame and weigh no more than can be easily handled by two people. Wall pieces must be ready to hang using wire and/or cleats.
Monetary and gift awards will be announced at the opening reception.
