The grant program, administered in partnership with the Center for Cultural Innovation, offers a quick application process for unrestricted $1,000 rapid-relief grants for artists statewide who have been economically impacted by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Individuals from rural communities and the Central Valley region are strongly encouraged to apply. Apply by August 18 at 3 p.m. - get the details here.

Grants for arts participation by people with disabilities

Applications are open now for cycle three of the California Arts Council's Arts and Accessibility grant program, offering support to artists with disabilities and organizations enhancing arts and culture opportunities for people with disabilities. Direct funding for artists is available through this grant. The program is administered in partnership with the National Arts and Disability Center at UCLA. Click here to learn more.

ACTA 2021 apprenticeship cycle now open

For more than 20 years, the Alliance for California Traditional Arts Apprenticeship Program has bolstered California's cultural traditions through the support of outstanding traditional artists and practitioners. The Apprenticeship Program encourages the continuity of the state's thriving traditional arts and cultures by contracting mentor artists to offer intensive, one-on-one training to qualified apprentices. Each $3,000 contract will support a period of concentrated learning, from six months to a year, for apprentices who demonstrate a committed engagement with, and a talent for, a specific traditional art form or cultural practice. View the program guidelines and apply online here.
