Saturday, 2/8, 1-3pm
Hosted by Qunify
Amalgam Comics & Coffeehouse, 2578 Frankford Ave

Come young and old! For this “Our Stories”, we’re focusing on how we understand and communicate our identities and how the experience of queerness has shifted throughout recent generations. Community members from four living generations will share their experiences as members of the lgbtq+ community and how they feel those experiences have changed over time or been impacted by their age group. The event will provide an opportunity for dialogue with folks from Gen Z through to the Boomer generation. Everyone is welcome!

Philly LGBTQ History Group: LGBTQ Youth—As Seen on TV

Sunday, 2/9, 12-2pm
William Way
RSVP on Facebook
What was it like to be a young LGBTQ person in the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, or 2000s, and how have things changed today? This talk looks at the evolving lives of LGBTQ youth in the United States, using clips from TV sitcoms and dramas as a jumping-off point.

Steven Capsuto began researching sexual-minority images on television in 1987 while volunteering with a lesbian and gay crisis hotline. Since 1990, he has given video-illustrated lectures in dozens of cities about televised LGBTQ portrayals. The first edition of his book Alternate Channels was a semifinalist for what is now the Stonewall Book Award.

From the 1980s to 2000s, Steven oversaw the GLBT Library/Archives of Philadelphia (first the library and later the archives). He has served as a historical consultant or researcher on documentaries such as After Stonewall, TV Revolution, and The Question of Equality, and for the 2020 documentary series Visible: Out on Television.

No Mo' Sexual FOMO

Thursday, 2/13, 7-11pm
Ruba Club, 416 Green St.

RSVP on Facebook

Lots of comics talk about sexual mishaps, mistakes and mayhem in their routines. Good humor is based on all the great sex and pleasure we miss out on. But what if comics could go back and see how things could have gone if they - and their partners and families - had better information and education about sex?

Join us as Philly’s most fabulous sexpert, Kit Ten, gives comics the chance to go back and redo their worst moments, so next time, they won’t MISS OUT.

$1 of every ticket purchased goes to the William Way.
