The two-day event features 52 high-school poetry county champions vying for the state title and a chance to compete at the National Finals in Washington, D.C. An initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts, Poetry Out Loud encourages high school students to learn about poetry through memorization, performance, and competition. Get all the event details in our latest press release. Americans for the Arts members can submit nominations of arts leaders from the community for one of seven 2019 Annual Leadership Awards. These awards recognize the achievements of individuals, organizations, or programs committed to enriching their communities through the arts and are presented each year in conjunction with AFTA annual convention. Submit your nominations by March 11 at 8:59 p.m. PST to honor a leader in your community.
