If you are from the Bay Area you probably already know about the Bay Area Figurative Movement that Elmer Bischoff, Joan Brown, Nathan Olivera, and Thiebauld (sp?) are. I wasn't aware of who Petersen was until I moved out here. He has strong ties to Davis and Sacramento and so his work really grew on me. In person it's twice the painting you see on your screen.
Elliott Fouts has put together a show about him. (Incidentally I show with Elliott and he is a great guy who is willing to educate his clientele. I've learned a lot from him.)
