At the end of January, I am moving my art studio from The British Grocery to Dogpatch. There, I will be sharing space with the artist and teacher Ranu Mukherjee. The new studio is quite a bit smaller and more introspective. It will allow me to narrow my research to the ceramic art that has captured my attention lately.

Over the next weeks, I am offering an extended opportunity for friends, fans, and collectors to see where I have been and where I am going. I’m hosting two evening openings (Jan 21 and 24, from 5:30pm to 8:00pm) and will be available for by-appointment visits until Jan 27.

"Sono venuto a parlare di nuovo con te • I've come to talk with you again" • 2019 (detail)
Ceramic, pigment on kilm shelf. 12" x 12" x 2"

I will be presenting several bodies of work that I’ve exploring since 2009 including Upon ReflectionTraversata/CrossingsMemento MoriFaggots, as well as an ongoing screening of my film (co-directed with Rob Fatal) The Violation of Themis

Also, I am looking forward to sharing the new directions in my contemporary ceramic/pigment ruins, tiles, and plates. These palinsesti di memoria offer memories, signs, and symbols. They share a journey through epic time revealing blue spectacles, neo-medieval imagination, inaudible explosions, savage genocide, laughter, and the warmth of the earth’s touch.

I am looking forward to sharing this Retrospective of Change with you. RSVPs are most welcome.

Warmly,
Daniel
