Request for Proposals: Arts in Corrections

The California Arts Council and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) are seeking arts organizations to implement rehabilitative arts programs at prisons statewide. Proposals must be received by April 11, 2016 and an informational webinar will be held on Wednesday, March 2 at 2:00 p.m.   MORE >>

NEW Otis Report on the Creative Economy of the LA Region

The 2015 Otis Report on the Creative Economy of the Los Angeles Region was released at a special event in Los Angeles yesterday. Among other findings, the report illustrates that from 2009 to 2014, the number of jobs linked to art, culture and design in the Los Angeles area increased almost 3 percent. Click here to view the full report online. Interested in helping? It's easy - and deductible! Give a little extra on your state tax return to the "Keep Arts in Schools Fund," and 100% of your tax-deductible contribution is applied to arts education programs supported by the California Arts Council. The fund can be found in Voluntary Contribution Section 110 (425) of the "540" individual state tax-return form, and the minimum donation is just $1.
