A typological exegesis is a type of story that relates the Old Testament
to the New Testament. For example, according to the Old Testament,
King David was a shepherd boy who was faithful to God and demonstrated
some of the same qualities as Jesus did in the New Testament. David was
an actual "good shepherd" but Jesus is the "Good Shepherd."
