Kenney Mencher

I'm Kenney Mencher. I'm an artist who left a tenured professorship in 2016 to pursue making art full time. This blog is about art, art history, with a emphasis on human rights. I make homoerotic art featuring bears, otters & other gay wildlife.

Draw Naked People at the SJ Museum

I thought this looked like a fun project!

DIY Art: Figure Drawing. Sun, Nov 4, 11 AM-1 PM (Beginners) / 2-4 PM (Advanced). Draw from nude models in a professional and comfortable setting. Artist and teacher Robert Regis Dvorak, author of "Drawing without Fear," will lead this figure drawing workshop. Registration for each session is $30 ($25 for members) and is available for participants aged 18 and older. To register, click here.
Color Tour: Black and Brown. Sun, Nov 4, 2 PM. The first of SJMA's fall series will feature artworks in black and brown. Free with Museum admission.
Lunchtime Lecture. Wed, Nov 7, 12 PM. Lucinda Barnes, chief curator and director of programs at the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive at the University of California, is our November speaker. Her topic will be "A Game of Clues: Eric Fischl's Visual Fictions." Explore Fischl's exotic, sensuous, and mysterious characters and scenes of middle-class suburban life. Free with Museum admission.

Cool beyond reason! Isabel Samaras: Making a Better Yesterday Today

Varnish's exhibit of Isabel Samaras' paintings is savvy, cool, and intelligent.  A little "schema and correction" action.
